It has been a very good experience so far.

This didn't work for my loved one due to their need for care. The community selection process could have been better. In general, communication with the staff was good and most of the time they were responsive to family questions. Residents were offered three meals a day to choose from. A delivery fee will be charged for the delivery of meals to the resident's room. They had many activities available for residents.

News of a potential sale sent shares in Brentwood, Tennessee, up as much as 29%, according to the companyBloombergNews outlet citing anonymous sources when reporting Brookdale is working with financial advisors to scout potential buyers.

Brookdale focuses on building occupancy

during oneSecond Quarter Results Conference CallIn August, President and CEO Lucinda Cindy Baier said that with a weighted average occupancy rate of 74.6% in its communities, the company is focused on increasing occupancy to pre-pandemic levels of 85%. She said the next goal is to return to Brookdale's historically high occupancy rate of 89%.

According to Baier, Brookdale is on a strong recovery in occupancy, with total occupancy in the second quarter of 410 basis points year over year.

The Company's portfolio of senior living properties in the same community, including independent living, assisted living, memory care and long-term care communities, saw an average occupancy increase of 420 basis points compared to the same quarter of 2021 and an increase of 120 basis points compared to the first quarter of 2022.

The sequential growth has outpaced the industry, Baier noted during this conference call, and the increase is the company's best second-quarter sequential occupancy growth in more than 10 years. He also said more than 2,200 residents moved in in August, the most in a single month in four years.
